Hubballi Police Arrest Notorious Rowdy Bachha Khan and Eight Associates in Land Dispute Threat Case
Hubballi,EXPRESS News: In connection with a case involving continuous threats to a city resident related to land transactions, the Hubli-Dharwad CCB police have arrested notorious rowdy Bachha Khan and eight of his associates.
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar told media that the team of Bachha Khan had been making repeated threatening calls to land sellers, demanding crores of rupees due to disputes arising between buyers and sellers. The landowners had filed a complaint at the CCB police station regarding this matter.
Providing information about the case, Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar said, “Between the 18th and 20th of last month, an individual from Mantur village received threatening calls. This individual, who was facing issues related to selling land and finances, had met with some people. After observing his daily activities, it was noted that he received multiple calls from two different numbers at various times. During these calls, threats were made, along with information about the movements of his family members and the vehicles they were using. A demand of one crore rupees was also made.”
“Following threats to life, a case was registered, and the CCB initiated an investigation. Three teams were formed to locate the accused. Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, seven individuals were arrested in Hubballi-Dharwad, and the main accused, Bachha Khan, was apprehended in Bengaluru. Further information is being collected, and the investigation is ongoing based on technical evidence and various other testimonies,” he added.
“The complainant is an elderly man, approximately 70 years old. His family members are located in different places and some people are suspiciously following them. Therefore, we cannot disclose the complainant’s name. We have formed a team that includes one ACP and two inspectors to apprehend the accused. It has come to our knowledge that the accused, Bachha Khan, has been out on parole since August 2. He is a key suspect in the Fruit Irfan murder case at the old Hubballi police station and has ties to a murder case in Bengaluru. Additionally, it has been revealed during the investigation that several other individuals have also received threatening calls,” the Commissioner stated.
